A shocking incident came to light from Jharkhand, where three minor tribal girls were gang-raped in Khunti district. All the accused are also minors. The incident took place late Friday night in Rania police station area.
The incident was reported at the police on Sunday and the statements of the victims were recorded. The police detained 10-12 boys and are interrogating them.
As per statements given by the victims, on the night of February 21, the five friends were returning home from a wedding ceremony. Around 10-12 minor boys followed them and started molesting them and took them towards a hill like forest. One of the girls bit the hand of a molester with her teeth and ran away. Then she ran to the village and informed the villagers about the incident. She came back to the crime spot with the villagers but by then all the culprits had fled.
In her statement to the police, a 10-year-old victim said that she was raped by three boys. Another victim said that seven culprits had held her captive and three of them raped her. The statement of one victim could not be recorded.
Additional Superintendent of Police Christopher Kerketta said, “The police were informed about the case on Sunday. After recording the statements of the victims, the police took 10-12 boys into custody and are interrogating them. All the accused will be caught soon.”
