J&K: Army jawan martyred, two injured in Pak firing on LoC in Poonch

Jammu: An Army jawan was martyred while two others suffered injuries as Pakistan shelled forward posts along the Line of Control (LoC) early morning on Sunday in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources here said that early morning Pakistan troops resorted to heavy unprovoked firing in Kirni sector of Poonch.

“Indian Army also effectively retaliated to the firing and in cross border exchange of fire, one Army jawan attained martyrdom and two injured,” they said.

The injured jawans have been rescued and airlifted to the Command Hospital.

Pakistan till June, has violated the ceasefire for more than 2000 times in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. (UNI)
