J&K: Cloudburst near Jawahar Tunnel sweeps away livestock (VIDEO)

Srinagar: A cloudburst swept away a makeshift tent and livestock of a nomadic family at Qazigund area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday, officials said. However, there was no report of any human life loss.

The incident was reported after cloudburst near Jawahar Tunnel early Wednesday following heavy rain in the area.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor directed officers to provide immediate relief to the nomad families affected by the cloudburst.

“Directed the district administration Ramban to provide immediate relief to the nomad families affected by cloudburst near Jawahar Tunnel. SDPO, SHO, Tehsildar rushed towards the spot with food & shelter. Financial assistance to be provided at the earliest,” Sinha tweeted. (UNI)
