New Delhi: Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) leader Saurabh Sharma today expressed confidence of winning all the four posts including that of President's in the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union (JNUSU) polls slated to be held on September 8. Talking to UNI, Mr Sharma, who is also ABVP's election committee member, said,' Issue of upgradation of facilities at hostel, improvement of placement cells, 24x7 health centre, facilities of e-rickshaw for the students and price regulation of food served at Dhabas and installation of vending machines at girls hostel are the agenda on which we are fighting the JNUSU election." On being asked about alliance of the left affiliated student wings, he said, "there was a time in the campus when left affiliated students contested elections among themselves.

But in last few years ABVP, has grown its base and our votes share has been increasing slowly and because of that they have united together and fighting the polls against the ABVP. In this campus ABVP is the single largest student organisation contesting the elections lonely. I believe even if all of them gets united, ABVP will win all the four post of the JNUSU election." He also said after February 9 incident it has has been proved that there is a section in the campus who talk of dividing India, their agenda and the people involved in these were exposed. So they have united together. "We have full faith on the JNU students, they will give a befitting reply by voting ABVP,' he asserted. On asking about Najeeb Ahmed issue, Mr Sharma said ABVP's name was taken intentionally in the matter and alleged JNUSU's involvement behind his dissappearance. "Our organisation has nothing to do with his disappearance.

If they were too much serious they could have contacted the police and asked where is Najeeb. In this whole matter ABVP delegation has met Delhi police Commissioner and urged to bring Najeeb back to campus. Najeeb has become victim of politics of left affiliated student wing," he stated. He also said after February 9 episode, students have started raising voice against the left inclined teachers. Now students counter against anything that is not in the good interest of the country. So they are frustrated. The right-affiliated student wing has fielded Nidi Tripathi, Durgesh Kumar, Nikunj Makwana and Pankaj Keshari for the post of President, Vice-president, General Secreatry and Joint secretary respectively. All together seven candidates are in the fray for the post of President. The results will be declared on September 11. (UNI)
