New Delhi: Though the process of government forming has almost been worked out in Karnataka, one-upmanship under-current still persists, considering DK Shivakumar's camp openly expressing unhappiness over their leader missing out on getting chief minister's post in Karnataka, though an official announcement is yet to be made.

"I don't think I am fully happy, but in the interest of Karnataka. What commitment we have given to the people of Karnataka and Kannadigas, we wanted to fulfil. That's why the party and Mr DK Shivakumar, everybody has to accept," Congress MP DK Suresh told a section of media.

Asked if he wants to see his brother Shivakumar as the chief minister, Suresh said, "Yes. I wish he had, but it didn't happen. We will wait and see."

Yesterday, former BJP minister Araga Jnanendra said that the internal squabble in Karnataka Congress would persist for the next five years.

"In a nutshell, the Congress party is in a state of emotional turmoil. When will this disease diminish, I do not know. They got an absolute majority which should not have come. The fight for the CM's post will go on, and will do nothing for the people for the next five years," he told reporters.

Earlier, Shivakumar told reporters in Delhi that he has convened a CLP meeting today evening in Bengaluru. The meeting is expected to make an official announcement of CLP leader who would then submit the letter to Karnataka Governor Thawarchand Gehlot to stake claim to form the government. (UNI)
