Kerala: Woman elopes with her 11-yr-old son's minor friend in Alathur

Palakkad: Alathur police on Wednesday registered a case under POCSO Act against a 35-year-old woman on the charge of allegedly eloping with a 14-year-old boy, who was also the friend of her 11-year-old son, at Kuthirapara near Kunissery in Erimayur grama panchayat.

Police arrested the woman along with the boy from Ernakulam, following the missing complaint lodged by the boy's parents on Tuesday and produced before the court, which has sent them to judicial custody for 14 days.

The incident occurred on February 25 (Tuesday), when the boy's family started searching for him, after he failed to return home from the school after the exams. Later, they filed a missing complaint with the police.

In the course of investigation, police traced the woman along with the boy from Ernakulam district, about 110 Km away from the victim's house. The boy is the younger brother of her son's friend, and she was living with the child after separating from her husband.

According to reports, she told the police that the boy accompanied her willingly.
