Kharge counts UPA's schemes, says govt speaks only jumlas

New Delhi : Leader of the Congress in Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday attacked the Government on its work culture, saying that the grand old party believes in doing work while the present government speaks only 'Jumlas'. ''Hum Kaam Karnay waley Hain (We believe in doing work) and Woh Jumla Bolney walay hain (they speak only Jumlas),'' Mr Kharge said while participating in the debate on the Motion of Thanks to the President's address delivered on January 31.
 
Mr Kharge in his speech mentioned the names of the UPA's schemes which were changed by the present government.''This is ''Nam Badlu Sarkar (Name Changing Government),'' he said.
 
The Congress leader reiterated the demand for a JPC on Rafale deal. Mr Kharge accused the government of building pressure on the CBI, CVC, and ED and said that they are being 'misused' by the government.
 
The Congress leader asked the Government that why it was not giving farm loan waiver.''When you can waive off corporate loans then why you can not give farm loan waiver,'' he said.The Congress leader alleged that Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana has benefitedinsurance companies and many farmers have left this scheme.
 
Mr Kharge questioned the Government on why the allocation of MNREGA has been reduced.The Congress leader said the Lokpal Bill is under "cold storage" adding that 5 years have passed to amend two words in the Bill. '' Why unemployment is rising despite high GDP growth, '' Mr Kharge questioned.
 
Mr Kharge attacked the government on demonetisation, saying that it has affected poor people while rich people were unaffected. The Congress leader said there are lakhs of vacancies in the government sector and the government is yet to fill it.
 
On GST, Mr Kharge said at the time of elections in the states, the government had reduced the GST rates. Attacking the government on asking what the Congress did in 60 years, Mr Kharge mentioned that during the Congress regime in 60 years there was focus on literacy rate, life expectancy, irrigation, education, white revolution and green revolution. "What we did in 60 years? We gave food, water, milk and education," Mr Kharge said.
 
Mr Kharge said the Congress brought public sector to generate employment in the country.''Give us also some credit," Mr Kharge said. (UNI)
