Lakhimpur Kheri LIVE Updates: Rahul Gandhi ends dharna at Lucknow airport, leaves for Lakhimpur

Bowing to political pressure, Uttar Pradesh government has given permission to Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and three other people to visit Lakhimpur Kheri.

The decision was taken after chief minister Yogi Adityanath held a meeting with the officials and assessed the prevailing situation on Wednesday morning.

While Priyanka has been released from police custody in Sitapur, Rahul Gandhi reached Lucknow airport along with some senior Congress leaders including CMs of Punjab and Chhattisgarh.

Earlier, Rahul Gandhi sat on dharna at Lucknow airport when UP Police insisted on taking him in their vehicle while he was adamant on going in his personal vehicle.
