AG Venugopal, the top law officer representing the Union of India (UOI), in his consent letter, said it is time people understand attacking the SC unjustifiably invites contempt.

The AG has reportedly given his consent after carefully going through at least eight individuals, who wrote to him for his consent to commence the contempt of court proceedings against stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra.

These individuals can now file criminal contempt petitions against Kamra before the Supreme Court for his alleged tweets and criticising the apex court and its Judges.(UNI)
