Guna: Three personnel – including an officer – were martyred and a driver grievously injured when poachers opened fire on a law-enforcement vehicle in Aron Police Station limits, police said on Saturday.
Following inputs regarding the presence of more than half-a-dozen ruffians, a patrol team reached the place during the intervening night.
The deceased were identified as Sub-Inspector Rajkumar Jatav, Head Constable Neeraj Bhargav and Const Santram Meena. Lakhan Giri – who was at the wheel – was rushed to the District Hospital.
An encounter followed the ambush. A massive search operation is underway against the accused.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has convened a meeting of senior officers in the state capital.
