Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Three young persons were killed while two others sustained critical injuries when their car split apart during a catastrophic collision near Phulumbri Mathpati on Sulod Road yesterday late at night, officials confirmed.

The victims included two grandsons of prominent local resident Haji Abdul Jabbar Seth Bagwan, aged approximately 19 and 20 years.

The deceased were identified as sons of Sheikh Asif (Abdul Jabbar's elder son) and Sheikh Jamil (second son), alongside the grandson of Ghiyas Khan from Watch City Chowk.

Two surviving occupants from Motiwala Nagar remain hospitalised – one at private Icon Hospital with severe leg trauma and internal injuries, the other at MGM Hospital. Preliminary reports indicate the group had travelled without family permission to dine at Phulumbri Dhaba when the crash occurred.

The vehicle's violent disintegration upon impact suggests extreme collision forces, though authorities have yet to determine the exact cause. Motiwala Nagar residents expressed profound grief as investigators examined the wreckage.

No official statement has been released regarding potential contributing factors to the fatal incident.
