New Delhi:All drama about government formation in Maharashtra is now likely to be enacted in the capital as two principal political protagonists from the western state Sharad Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis are expected to hold their respective conclaves here during next few days.
While incumbent Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will be meeting BJP chief and Home Minister to draw out party strategy as the saffron party's tally has dropped to 105, more crucial meeting is expected between Mr Pawar and Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
The BJP feels as the single largest party, it can safely wait for the first 'chance' to form government and is reportedly reaching out to legislators individually.
In the 288-member assembly, the magic number will be 144 plus and thus the ruling party in the state and the centre needs around 40 additional numbers.
Though marginalised and reduced to 'number four', the Congress still has legitimacy in Maharashtra politics and a decision by Ms Gandhi will be vital.(UNI)
