Mumbai: Although the number of patients in 12 to 15 districts of Maharashtra is decreasing, the number of patients is increasing in other districts. Therefore, there was a tendency in the cabinet meeting to extend the lockdown type restrictions for another 15 days till May 31.
However, the state Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will announce the official decision, informed Health Minister Rajesh Tope on Wednesday after meeting.
He said health department and ministers proposed to extend the lockdown for 15 days under the ‘Break the Chain’ initiative.
Two important issues were discussed in the cabinet meeting today.
One is that vaccinations for 18- 44 year olds have been postponed due to low stocks of vaccines.
Apart from this, there was a tendency among the most of ministers to increase the restrictions, Tope added. (UNI)
