Makeshift eatery on Kedarnath route collapses, 7 pilgrims buried under debris

Dehradun: Pilgrims eating at a makeshift eatery on their way to the Kedarnath Dham were buried under debris when it suddenly collapsed in the Uttarakhand town.
 
The incident occurred on Monday evening, and relief teams have so far pulled out all buried under the debris and sent them to the hospital for treatment.
 
District Disaster Management Officer Nandan Singh Rajwar said on Tuesday that a pilgrim, Sameer from Sonipat (Haryana), informed the Disaster Control Management late night about the collapse near the yatra stop at Meetha Pani.
 
A DDRF team immediately reached the spot and rescued all those buried under the debris and transported them to MRP, Gaurikund. After first aid by doctors, the injured were sent in ambulance to other better medical facilities.
 
There were four minors among those injured, who belonged to a family from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh besides one person from Haryana's Faridabad.
