Mamata Banerjee stands like a wall to block central schemes : Modi
, Saturday, 20 March 2021 (15:07 IST)
Kharagpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday alleged West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stands like a wall to block central schemes.“Bengal is asking, where is the aid that the Centre sent to the state?” Mr Modi questioned.
Addressing a public rally here, the Prime Minister said the mafia raj in Bengal has been prevalent for years.“Congress, Left and TMC stalled Bengal's development for decades,” he said.

"Didi thinks if she implements central schemes, people will bless Modi. Arre Didi, if you don’t want to give Modi credit, then don’t, but why deprive the poor of these benefits? Many industries have died here. Only one industry flourished - the mafia industry,” the Prime Minister alleged

Mr Modi said, "Mamata Banerjee (didi) betrayed the people of Bengal. She hampered development in the state. "

“Didi, Bengal gave you 10 years to show your work, but you betrayed the people with violence, misrule," he said.

"Bengal has given chances to Congress, TMC, Left. If you give BJP a chance this time, we will show you what ashol poriborton (real change) looks like. You have seen destruction by Congress and the Left. TMC ruined your dreams,” Mr Modi said.

The Prime Minister said, "The BJP will give Bengal a bright future. Jana Sangh was formed by Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. If there is any party that is truly from Bengal, it is BJP."

He said, "TMC destroyed dreams of Bengali people. In the last 50-55 years development has taken a backseat in Bengal."

“In the last 70 years, you gave opportunities to everyone but give us 5 years, we will free Bengal from the 70 years of destruction, we will sacrifice our lives for you,” Mr Modi said.

“Only single window that exists in Bangal today is single window of 'Bhaipo' (nephew), no work gets done without crossing it,” the PM said.

He said Mamata Banerjee playing "khela" (game) of appeasement for vote bank politics.

"Didi says 'khela hobe', but the truth is 'khela sesh, vikaas araambh hobe' (Game is over, now development will start)," Mr Modi said.

He said Mamata Didi runs school of brutality where 'tolabaji' (extortion), cut money, syndicate and anarchy form syllabus.

“Didi’s government is refusing to implement the National Education Policy. She doesn’t care about the future of the youth of Bengal. I want to assure you all that we will not let Didi play with the future of Bengal’s youth,” the PM alleged.

“You must be aware that last night WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram went down for 40 minutes. Everyone was worried and were tensed for an hour. In Bengal, development, people's faith in the government, their belief has been down for 50 years," Mr Modi said.

“The kind of people turnout in Bengal shows BJP is coming to power in the state this time. It's my honour that you have come to bless BJP in such huge numbers, this clearly suggests Bengal mei iss baar BJP sarkar," the PM said.

Mr Modi said that agriculture, irrigation and cold storage facilities in this region will be made better once the BJP forms the government. This, he said, will directly benefit the potato farmers in the region.

He also promised to improve the healthcare facilities and rural roads.

"We will ensure clean drinking water to every household in the region. We are committed to all-round development of this region," the PM said.

He said that wherever there are BJP governments in the states, the central and BJP governments are engaged in the service of "Janata-Janardan with the power of double engine".

"We are working with the mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas," Mr Modi said

“In this year's budget, a massive provision has been made for Medinipur. We're taking steps to convert the fishing harbour in the region into an economic hub. Under the BJP govt, the infrastructure will be modernised, cold chain will be improved and the fisheries sector will benefit,” the Prime Minister said..

“I assure the people of Bengal, that Didi will no longer be allowed to crush democracy. The police and administration should also remember that nothing is greater than the limits of the Constitution and democracy, “ he said.

“Baba Saheb Ambedkar has given us the freedom of vote and to choose. However, in Bengal, Mamata is constantly looting your freedom to vote,” Mr Modi alleged.

He said in 2018 Panchayat elections, the rigging done by TMC was witnessed by the entire world.

“I assure the people of Bengal that Didi will not be able to trample over our democracy anymore,” the PM said.

Mr Modi said, "The child here knows where the wires of illegal mining in the Subarnarekha River and Kansavati River are connected. After the BJP government comes to Bengal, strict action will be taken on all these, the rule of law will be established."

“I am proud, BJP has men like Dilip Ghosh. He has been attacked several times, but he never backed down,” Mr Modi added.(UNI)
