Srinagar: Rejecting speculations about a possible PDP-Congress alliance to form a government in Jammu and Kashmir, former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday said this is utter fabrication and yet another unfortunate example of fake news.
Ms Mufti, who is the PDP president, also rejected reports that she has met Congress chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

"Amused at media speculations about a possible PDP-Congress alliance to form the government in J&K. Conjecture also includes an impending meeting between Sonia ji & I. This is utter fabrication & yet another unfortunate example of fake news," Ms Mufti tweeted.

The PDP president's comment came in the backdrop of reports suggesting that the two parties may forge an alliance to form the next government in the state. Ms Mufti had to resign last month after the BJP pulled out from the coalition government in the state, where the Governor's rule has been imposed.

The Congress has also ruled out any possibility of an alliance with the PDP to form the government.(UNI)
