Patna:People of Bihar joined the nation in making grand success to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for 'Janata Curfew' today as the state witnessed deserted look and they also clapped, rang bells, drum utensils making wide range of different sounds to express their gratitude to those engaged in essential services, even taking risk of their lives for a greater cause to beat Corona virus threat.
Responding to the call of PM Mr Modi for nationwide 'Janata Curfew', an essential step of 'social distancing' required to beat the Corona virus threat, people of Bihar extended their complete support making the entire exercise, a grand success.
All markets, institutions, bus stands, airports,railway stations, roads, lanes and even small community places wore deserted look since 7 A M which would continue till 9 P M as per the call of Prime Minister.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has advised the people to remain indoors even after 9 P M barring extreme emergency and it is expected that the same scenario would continue till late night.
In Patna, main roads and by-roads in various localities witnessed deserted look since morning and all markets remained closed.Government offices were already closed due to Sunday but many other private establishments which function on Sunday, also remained closed.
Milk supply at some places was affected as milk outlets of several brands remained closed while medicine shops in some localities also pulled down their shutters. Medicine shops near Hospital and Nursing Homes remained open.
Passengers who had arrived early morning at various bus stands and Railway stations, faced hard times in reaching their homes as bus services and other mode of transports remained off the road due to suspension of these services till March 31. Some of them were fortunate enough to get private vehicles to reach their destinations.
Reports of 'Janata Curfew' turning out to be grand success have also been received from other districts of Bihar. (UNI)
