Mirage 2000 & A Sukhoi-30, 2 IAF planes crash in central India

Morena: Two IAF fighter aircraft crashed on Saturday after taking off in the morning from Gwalior Airbase on an exercise.Preliminary reports said that of the total four personnel on board three have been found in injured condition.

A Mirage 2000 went down in a desolate area within this district’s Pahargarh and a Sukhoi-30 in adjoining Bharatpur district of Rajasthan.

The precise crash site is Manpur. An Air Force team and law-enforcement authorities have reached the place and cordoned off the area. The planes had taken off at approximately 1000 hrs. It is hitherto unclear whether a mid-air collision occurred. The debris is at least 100 km apart.(UNI)
