Vellore (Tamil Nadu): Asserting that Mr Narendra Modi, who hs been providing a corruption-free governance, will become Prime Minister for the third time in the next year's Lok Sabha polls, senior BJP Leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said the BJP's target is to win more than 25 seats in the LS polls.
Addressing a public meeting to highlight the nine year's achievements of the Narendra Modi-led government, he lauded BJP Sate President K.Annamalai and said he was confident that the BJP would win more than 25 seats in the Lok Sabha polls.
"The BJP is eyeing to at least 25 seats in the Lok Sabha polls, but I am confident that the party will win more than 25 seats", he added.
Stating that Mr Modi has installed the historic Sengol (sceptre) in Parliament, Mr Amit Shah said "I wanted to see more than 25 MPs from Tamil Nadu to be seated in front of the Sengol in Parliament".
He exhorted the people to vote for the BJP and its allies and make sure that Tamil Nadu will have representation in the Union Ministry.
He also exuded confidence that the BJP will win from the Vellore Lok Sabha Assembly in the next year's polls.
He also said that the BJP-led NDA will win more than 300 seats in the Lok Sabha polls and Mr Modi, who has been providing corruption free governance, will become the Prime Minister for the third time.
Responding to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin's poser asking him to list out the what schemes ahd the Centre did for Tamil Nadu in the last nine years, Mr Amit Shah listed out various schemes and said the Centre during the last nine years has allotted Rs 2.47 lakh crore for the state, the highest allocation made by the Centre, as against Rs 95,000 crore allocated during the ten year Congress-led UPA regime in which the DMK was a partner.
He also said the Centre has sanctioned 11 new medical colleges for the State, sanctioned new airport at a cost of Rs 1,260 crore, Rs 50,000 crore Salem Express way, modernisation of Egmore, Katpadi, Madurai and Kanniyakumari railway stations and Mr Modi has propogated Tamil language by holding Kashi Tamil Sangamam.
Accusing the ruling DMK of pursuing dynastic politics and was involved in corruption, Mr Amit Shah urged the people to put an end to the family rule and also asked the people whether they will send at least 25 MPs from the State to the Parliament.
He also asked the people whether abrogation of Article 370 was required or not.
On Mr Stalin's poser on AIIMS facility in Madurai, which has been pending for the last eight years, Mr Amit Shah said this question the party in power in the State has to reply to it.
He also said only the DMK has to respond to it.
He also sought to know why the DMK, which was part of the Congress-led Government for ten years, did not take steps to bring AIIMS to TamilNadu.
Earlier, at a close door meeting of the core committee of the BJP on South Chennai parliamentary constituency, Mr Amit Shah held detailed discussions and said to have identified the prospective seats where the party has the chance to win.
He also pitched for BJP to win more than 20 seats in the next year's Lok Sabha polls and pitched for making a Tamil as Prime Minister in the future, BJP sources said.
The sources said Mr Amit Shah pitched for a Tamilian to become the Prime Minister in the near future as such an opportunity was lost in the past twice, and blamed the ruling DMK for it. (UNI)
