New Delhi: To have a good leader is good for the country and the society, but it is also imperative that the society discharges its own responsibilities so that whenever there is a lapse, 'we do not blame the leadership alone', RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said here today in reference to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "We have got a good leader (in Modi) ....but there is a danger in it also.

Khatra yeh hae ki thekedar ke sar sab chhor denge aur hum sab so jaeyenge (At times we may leave everything on the leader and do not do our part)," Mr Bhagwat said releasing a book 'Narendra Damodardas Modi - The Making of a Legend' penned by renowned sociologist and founder of Sulabh International - Bindeshwar Pathak.

The function was also addressed by BJP chief Amit Shah, who lauded three years of performance of the Narendra Modi government and it also brought a paradigm shift in foreign policy wherein India has remained firm about protecting its own boundaries and also seek good relations with all countries globally. Mr Shah said single biggest work of Mr Modi during his stint as Chief Minister of Gujarat was to bring about a drastic improvement in the water depletion level.

By constructing thousands of check dams and connecting Narmada river to about 11,000 ponds have helped bring about drastic improvement in the water-levels in North Gujarat, Mr Shah said. "I am from Gujarat, I know he worked with a determination on this," Mr Shah said, adding that entire North Gujarat was under dark zones, "now Gujarat is free of all dark zones". (UNI)
