Monsoon likely to be delayed in these north Indian states

Pune: Further advance of southwest monsoon into remaining parts of Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Punjab is likely to be slow due to unfavourable conditions, the IMD predicted on Tuesday.
The monsoon has been subdued over Odisha, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu–Kashmir and Ladakh, east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and north interior Karnataka.
 
Day temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5°C) at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal; at isolated places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam; above normal (1.6°C to 3°C) at many places over Assam, Meghalaya, south Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Kerala and Mahe; at a few places over Arunachal Pradesh, Konkan and Goa; at isolated places over Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Jharkhand, Saurashtra, Kutch, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
 
They were markedly below normal (-5.1°C and less) at isolated places over east Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat Region; appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5°C) at many places over east Uttar Pradesh; at a few places over west Uttar Pradesh; at isolated places over west Rajasthan; below normal (-1.6°C to -3°C) at many places over Bihar and east Madhya Pradesh; at a few places over Jammu–Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Uttarakhand; at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Gangetic West Bengal and near normal over rest parts of the country.
The highest maximum temperature of 41.2°C was reported at Ganganagar (West Rajasthan).
Thunderstorm observed (from 0830 hours IST of yesterday to 0830 hours IST of today) at isolated places over west Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Assam and Meghalaya.
 
Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep and at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar and Gujarat region and at a few places in Assam and Meghalaya, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Odisha, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kasmir and Ladakh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Saurashtra and Kutch, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana Rayalseema and north interior Karnataka.
Mainly dry weather prevailed in Punjab.(UNI)
