A shocking incident of child abuse has come to light in Madhya Pradesh. A 10-year-old boy was allegedly sodomised and assaulted by an employee in a madrasa in Indore.
According to the police, the incident took place on August 2 in a madrasa falling under the Badgonda police station official limits, after the victim had entered into a fight with some of his mates and was made to sleep in the accused cook’s room in the afternoon for some days till his tempers cooled.
A senior official said that the accused also thrashed the boy and threatened to kill him if he told anyone about the incident.
Days after the incident, when the boy managed to slip out of the madrasa and borrowed a mobile phone from a passerby and called his mother and informed her about his ordeal, the police said.
The accused madrasa staffer, identified as Mustakeen, 20, has been arrested and a case registered against him under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, based on the complaint filed by the victim’s mother.
The accused has been remanded to judicial custody.
