Multi-crore fake stamp paper accused Telgi dead

Pune: Abdulkarim Ladsaab Telgi, the prime accused of multi-crore fake stamp paper scam, died in Bangalore hospital on Monday night. According to sources, Telgi, 65, who hailed from Khanapur village of Belgaon district of Karnataka, was in jail for 11 years. He died at Victoria hospital in Bangalore, said an official of Yerawada jail in Pune on Tuesday.
 

Telgi, who ran parallel economy, was languishing in Yerawada jail for several years. Following repeated requests by his wife and daughter, citing his health reason, Telgi was shifted to Parrapan Agrahar jail in Bangalore. He was suffering from multi-organ disease from many years. His brother Ajim Telgi, who currently holds a senior position in Khanapur municipal council, was also a co-accused in the stamp scam. (UNI)
