Mumba: Mihir Shah, son of a Shiv Sena leader and accused driver in a fatal accident in Worli, remained on the run on Monday even as Mumbai Police issued a look out notice (LOC) and formed six teams to arrest him.

Mihir, 24, knocked down a woman early on Sunday with a speeding BMW car registered in the name his father Rajesh Shah deputy leader of Shiv Sena led by chief minister Eknath Shinde, police said.

Rajesh Shah and his driver Rajrishi Bidawat, who was present in the car at the time of the accident, have been arrested, police said, adding that they may seek their custody for questioning from a court.

Accident victim Kaveri Nakawa, 45, succumbed to her injuries in hospital and her injured fisherman husband Pradip, 50, is undergoing treatment, police said.

The victims, residents of Worli's Koliwada area, had just returned from Sassoon Dock after purchasing fish when the BMW car rammed into their scooter near Atria Mall around 5.30 am on Sunday, police said.
