Mumbai: A senior citizen committed suicide after jumping from the seventh floor of a building in Dahisar area of Mumbai suburban, police said here on Wednesday.
Police sources said the woman, Merlin Menona, 72, lived alone after her husband's death six months ago.
She took the extreme step on Tuesday afternoon and left a suicide note stating that she was ending her life due to her illness, as she had been mentally disturbed.
The MHB police station stated that her body was found lying in a pool of blood by a watchman of the building. The watchman immediately alerted the police, and the police registered an accidental death case.
