Mumbai monorail derails during test run; no passengers inside (VIDEO)

A monorail train partially derailed and tilted during a test run at Wadala depot in Mumbai, damaging its undercarriage during a test run, on Wednesday morning, officials said, adding that there were no passengers inside the train.

No injury was reported in the incident, they said.

The incident took place at 9 am and technicians are trying to bring the rake on track. It is said the repairs will be completed by evening.

MMRDA and its operating subsidiary, Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL), described it as a "mock drill" meant to test emergency preparedness.
