“My party has asked me to resign”: Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb resigns

Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb resigned on Saturday.

Deb, accompanied by Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav, went to the Raj Bhavan here and handed over his resignation letter to Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya.

"I hereby tender my resignation from the post of Chief Minister, Tripura, with effect from 14.5.2022," Deb said in the one-line resignation letter.

Later Deb said that he put in his papers at the instruction of the party leadership. "My party has asked me to resign," he said. (UNI)
