200 animals, mostly cows, have died due to mysterious disease

Baramulla:200 animals, mostly cows, have died due to mysterious disease in the frontier district of Kupwara, official sources said on Monday.

 "Hundreds of animals, mostly cows, have fallen ill due to some mysterious disease here in past few days. About 200 animals have so far died," they said.

Meanwhile, Animal Husbandry department has rushed teams to affected villages, they said, adding the deaths have occurred as the animals were not vaccinated by the farmers."However, exact cause of their death is still being ascertained," they added.(UNI)
