Chargesheet filed against UP based ISI agent for leaking tactical information of Indian security forces

New Delhi:The national anti-terror probe agency NIA on Friday said that it has filed a supplementary charge sheet against an ISI agent Rajakbhai Kumbhar, a resident of Kachchh district in Gujarat on Thursday under sections 120B and 123 of the IPC, Section 18 of the UA(P) Act 1967.
This case was initially registered as FIR No. 01/2020 dated January 19 last year at ATS, Gomti Nagar police station at Lucknow in which an accused Rashid, a resident of Mughal Sarai in Chandoli district, was arrested on January 19 last year for supplying sensitive information, photos and videos of vital installations of strategic importance to Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI operatives based in Pakistan.
 
NIA took over this case on April 6, 2020 and began the investigation.Earlier a charge-sheet was filed against an accused Rashid on July 16 last year under sections 120B, 123 of the IPC and Sec 18 of the UA(P) Act 1967 for his role in supplying sensitive, tactical and strategically important information about vital installations and movement of Indian security forces to his ISI handlers based in Pakistan.
 
“The charge sheeted accused Rajakbhai Kumbhar was arrested on September 30, 2020 and investigation had revealed that he had visited Pakistan twice on legal documents. During his return in the course of second visit, he had come in contact with Pakistani ISI operatives Hamid aka Asim and he had joined the conspiracy with the co-accused”, the officials in NIA said.
He transferred funds to accused Md. Rashid for the information he had provided to the ISI operatives in Pakistan, they added.Further investigation in the case continues, the probe agency said.(UNI)
