New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is planning to approach Interpol to issue Red Corner Notice (RCN) against a Pakistani diplomat.NIA has enlisted the Pakistani diplomat in its ‘wanted list’, following a charge-sheet the agency filed against him, for conspiring 26/11 Mumbai like terror attack in February this year, reliable sources said here on Monday.
The diplomat Amir Zubair Siddiqui, who served as Visa Councilor in Pakistani High Commission at Colombo, along with two other Pakistani officials allegedly, conspired a terror attack at strategic installations in southern India including the military installations and foreign embassies of America and Israel.
According to the source, the said diplomat along with his associates was conniving with some Sri Lankan nationals to collect information regarding the US consulate in Chennai, the Israeli consulate in Bengaluru, the Eastern Naval Command headquarters in Visakhapatnam and various other ports.The NIA is also seeking RCN against the two other Pakistani Nationals who have already been repatriated to their country from Colombo.The Pakistani diplomat was identified after the inputs of American intelligence and the two Sri Lankan nationals were reportedly arrested by the security agency in Delhi recently.(UNI)
