No Indian would be a part of Haj 2021, All applications cancelled

Hyderabad:Telangana State Haj Committee Executive Officer B Shafiullah on Tuesday said that the Haj Committee of India has announced that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced the cancellation of International conduct of Haj-2021 due to COVID-19.Hence, all the Application Forms for Haj – 2021 are “Cancelled” .
For Haj – 2021, the Telangana State Haj Committee received (3757) Haj application forms, a release here said.No quota is allotted, he said the Saudi Authorities have not allowed any pilgrims from outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Haj – 2021.For more information, the intending Haj Pilgrims are requested to visit official website www.hajcommittee.gov.in, Mr Shafiullah added.
 
Last year, due to the pandemic, the kingdom selected only 10,000 Muslims living in Saudi Arabia for the pilgrimage.
 
The Hajj is the Muslim pilgrimage to the sites of Mecca and Medina, including Masjid al-Haram - the world's most important mosque.
 
This year's Hajj will take place from July 17-22.(UNI)
