No reservation quota in two central universites of India !

Shimla/New Delhi: Two Central Universities in the country were not giving reservation facility to the students belonging to the Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe categories, the Lok Sabha was informed on Friday.
Replying to a query by Shimla (reserved) Lok Sabha member Virender Kashyap, Union Minister of State for Human Resources Development Satya Pal Singh said that Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), considering themselves to be 'minority institutions,' were not following the reservation policy of the Government.
 
The Minister said the  matter was pending before the Supreme Court and the High Court of Delhi, respectively  and  these institutions do not offer reservations for admissions or jobs, as per the norms fixed by the government. The Union government  was waiting for the findings of the sub-judice matter, before it decided upon the issue as the two varsities have minority status, Mr Singh added. (UNI)
