Not possible to waive farmers' loans due to Ladki Bahin Yojana: Maharashtra Minister

Kolhapur: Maharashtra Medical Education minister Hasan Mushrif has ruled out any farm loan waiver citing the enormous expenses incurred by the government on account of the 'Ladki Bahin' Yojana.

Mushrif said the state government was providing Rs 46,000 crore for the yojana.

While addressing a function in Kolapur district, Mushrif said even if a farm loan waiver was given, a section of farmers did not discharge their loan resulting in banks suffering losses.
