New Delhi: In order to address the unanticipated surge in demand for Police Clearance Certificates (PCCs), the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has decided to include the facility to apply for PCC services at all online Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs) across India, starting from Wednesday, 28 September.

A spokesman of the central government said that this step would significantly add to the availability of PCC appointments slots, and at an earlier date. It is yet another step to improve the citizen’s experience while availing passport-related services.

The action taken by the Ministry in extending this PCC application facility to POPSKs, would not only help Indian citizens seeking employment abroad, but also meet the demand for other PCC requirements, such as in the case of education, long term visa, emigration etc, the MEA said.

Required documents:

1.Old passport in original with self-attested photocopy of its first two and last two pages including ECR/Non-ECR page and page of observation (if any)

2.Proof of Present Address (in case of change of address)

3.Self-attested copy of Employment Contract with foreign employer

4.Copy of Valid visa (in case visa is already obtained) along with Official English translation if the visa is not in English (Inputs from UNI)
