Omar ‘hopes’ Imran invites Modi to oath-taking ceremony, latter accepts it

Srinagar: Former J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah hoped that Prime Minister Narendra Modi attends the oath-taking ceremony of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s chief Imran Khan.

Mr Abdullah said that if Nawaz Sharif, the then Prime Minister of Pakistan, could attend the oath-taking ceremony of Mr Modi in 2014, surely the Indian PM can do the same in 2018, if invited by Imran.

He was reacting to reports that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is considering inviting Mr Modi to Mr Khan’s oath-taking ceremony.

“I hope he does & I hope PM Modi accepts. If Nawaz Sharif could attend in 2014 surely Modi ji can do the same in 2018,” the Vice-President of National Conference (NC) wrote on micro-blogging site Twitter. (UNI)
