Operation Sindoor: Hit by portion of intercepted Pakistan drone, soldier dies at Udhampur Air Base

Jammu: A soldier died after being hit by a Pakistani drone shortly before a ceasefire announcement at Udhampur Air Base in Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources here said that a Rajasthani soldier, who was on duty, was critically injured on Saturday when he was hit by a portion of a Pakistani drone successfully intercepted by the Army Air Defence at the Udhampur-based Air Base.

They said that the incident took place hours before the announcement of a ceasefire by India and Pakistan to end the escalated tension between both nations.

The Udhampur Air Base came under the drone's attack on Saturday morning, and the jawan suffered serious injuries when hit by a portion of a drone, and he succumbed later, they said.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma paid tributes to the fallen braveheart identified as Surendra Singh Moga, a resident of Jhunjhunu, in a post on X.
