“There are some 400 people who have been detained which include over 70 from Srinagar district for questioning,” the sources said, adding the raids are continuing in different parts of the valley. The police were questioning those detained to find a lead in recent civilian killings.

Militants have stepped up attacks on the civilians in Kashmir this month. Seven civilians including four members from the minority community have been killed in various attacks in the past one week.
