Parrikar wins Panaji by election

Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar today won Panaji by elections defeating his nearest rival All India Congress Committee Secretary Girish Chodankar. Mr Parrikar polled 9862 votes,

Girish Chodankar of Congress 5059 votes, Anand Shirodkar of Goa Suraksha Manch 220 votes and Kenneth Silveira, independent candidate, 96 votes. Three hundred one voters opted for none of the above option. (UNI)
