People from 20 countries speaking 30 languages to grace 'Howdy Modi' mega show

Houston: A large number of Narendra Modi admirers and proponents of strong Indo-US ties from as many as 20 countries and speaking about 30 languages will be attending the much awaited 'Howdy Modi' mega event here on Sunday.
Announcing this, a spokesperson of Texas India Forum said here that "a history making audience has registered in just three weeks for the event".
 
Around 50,000 people mostly Indian Americans and admirers of Prime Minister Modi are expected to attend the event.
 
"It is going to be a bipartisan event....with leaders from both Democratic Party and Republican Party will be attending the event," she said.
 
Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a pre-departure statement for the week long trip said: "It is a matter of great honour for the Indian diaspora and pleasure for me that President of United States Donald Trump will grace the occasion with his presence and join me in addressing the community. This would be a maiden appearance of US President in an Indian community event with me, and marks a new milestone in our outreach to them".
 
The organisers have also confirmed that Mr Trump will be addressing the large gathering.
 
"The Texas India Forum is excited to welcome President Donald Trump to address over 50,000 Americans as we host Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India in Houston at NRG Stadium," a statement from the organisers said.
"This unique event brings together the President of the world's most influential democracy, the Prime Minister of the world's largest democracy and a bipartisan delegation of Governors, Members of Congress, Mayors and other Public officials," the statement said.
 
"Mr Modi's Houston address will be his third such address in the United States...the first one was at Madison Square Garden in 2014 and the second one at the Silicon Valley in 2016," Indian Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale has said.
"We are delighted that President Trump as well as senior leaders of the Democratic leadership of the US will also attend. The presence of these leaders will reflect the high standing influence of the Indian diaspora," the Foreign Secretary said.
 
The organisers of the 'Howdy Modi' show have made arrangements for translation of Prime Minister's speeches.
After the grand event, the Prime Minister will also have a separate interactive session with the members of the US Congress.
On his first day in Houston on Saturday, he will have a Round Table Meeting with top representatives and CEOs from companies from the oil and energy sector.
 
According to sources, there will be a photo opportunity with Persons of Indian Origin and a brief interaction with the Non Resident Indians (NRIs).(UNI)
