New Delhi: Petrol and diesel prices were increased once again on Thursday.
According to price notification of Indian Oil Corporation, petrol in Delhi now costs Rs 101.81 per litre as against Rs 101.01 per litre previously while diesel Rs 93.07 per litre as against 92.27 per litre.
In Delhi, petrol and diesel prices were increased by 80 paise each. In Kolkata, petrol costs Rs 111.35 per litre (increased by 83 paise) while Rs 96.22 (increased by 80 paise).
In Mumbai, a litre of petrol is available at Rs 116.72 while diesel is at Rs 100.94 per litre (increased by 84 paise each).
In Chennai, petrol costs Rs 107.45 per litre while diesel Rs 97.52 per litre (increased by 76 paise each).
This is the ninth hike in the past 10 days. The oil companies have been increasing the petrol and diesel prices since March 22 (except on March 24).
The fuel prices were on freeze since November 4, 2021, but the record 137 days hiatus ended on March 22 with an 80 paise per litre increase in rates of petrol and diesel. (UNI)
