Srinagar: The picture of a policeman holding AK-47 rifle has gone viral on social media fueling speculations that he has joined militant ranks as he has been missing from over a week. Official sources said that Ishfaq Ahmed left Police Training Centre (PTC) in Kathua where he was currently posted, for his home in village Heff Shirmal in south Kashmir district of Shopian last week.

They said Ishfaq never reached home and also missed his rejoining date of October 23 at the PTC Kathua. “Police had registered a case and initiated investigation into the disappearance of the policeman,” they said. However, with his photo holding an AK-47 rifle doing rounds on social media it is being speculated that he has joined militant ranks. Sources, however, said that the details whether he has joined militant ranks are being asserted. (UNI)
