PM greets Navy personnel & their families on "Indian Navy Day"

New Delhi:Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday greeted all Navy personnel on the occasion of the Navy Day.

 
Remembering the rich maritime tradition of over centuries, in his message, Mr Modi paid tributes to the Navy and said that it fearlessly protects the country's coasts along with rendering humanitarian assistance in times of need.
 
PM Modi, on his twitter handle, shared a video clip in which he narrated about the importance of Navy which was prominent since the Chola dynasty , and also highlighted the role of women in Chola's navy back then wherein they also held important positions.
 
He said that women were part of combat roles during those times.PM Modi also reminded about the capabilities of Shivaji's Maratha Navy.
 
He also highlighted the role Indian Navy in the Goa's liberation and during the 1971 Indo-Pak war, an many other occasions where it has contributed on humanitarian grounds.
 
'Navy Day greetings to all our valorous navy personnel and their families. The Indian Navy fearlessly protects our coasts and also renders humanitarian assistance in times of need. We also remember India’s rich maritime tradition over centuries,' PM Modi's tweet read.

Javadekar, Naqvi greet Navy personnel on Navy Day
 
New Delhi:Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar and Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Friday greeted all Navy personnel and their families on the occasion of Navy Day. 
 
"Salute to the Indian Navy personnel for their indomitable courage and valor. Heartfelt greetings to all Navy personnel and their families on Navy Day," Mr Javadekar tweeted. Mr Naqvi also took to twitter to extend his greetings. 
 
"On "Navy Day", my greetings to courageous personnel of  @indiannavy and their families. The country salutes our Navy for protecting the nation as well as playing commendable role in disaster relief," Mr Naqvi tweeted. 
 
Goa CM extends gratitude & wishes to Navy officers, personnel on Navy Day
Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday extended gratitude and wishes to all Naval officers and personnel of the Indian Navy on the occasion of Navy Day.
 
In tweet, the Chief Minister said,''On #NavyDay, I extend my gratitude and wishes to all Naval Officers and Personnel of the Indian Navy. I salute our brave warriors for protecting our waters with their dedication and selfless service to our motherland.''(UNI)
