PM Modi arrives Japan for G20 Summit, holds talks with Japanese counterpart

Osaka (Japan): Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived here to participate at the G20 Summit.

“Greeting each other as best friends do,” tweeted MEA spokesman Raveesh Kumar posting video footage of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe receiving Mr Modi for the meet.

Prime Minister Modi also held talks with Mr Abe and the Japanese delegation.

“Expanding the strategic template of our relationship, PM Narendra Modi met Japanese PM Shinzo Abe ahead of the G20 Summit. Discussed broad range of topics of mutual interest,” MEA spokesman tweeted.

Mr Modi said that he was looking forward to visit of Prime Minister Abe to India later this year for the Annual Summit.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister in a tweet announced his arrival here for the much awaited global meet.

“Reached Osaka to join the G20 Summit. Grateful to the dynamic Indian community for the warm welcome,” Mr Modi wrote in the micro blogging site.

During his stay here, Mr Modi will have at least 10 bilateral engagements including with the US President Donald Trump.

He will also meet global leaders under the framework of BRICS, RIC (Russia, India and China) and also JAI (Japan, America and India). (UNI)
