Mandya: People of Mandya in the poll-bound Karnataka were filled with enthusiasm as Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday held a roadshow here.
 
People lined up on both sides of the streets through which the PM's convoy passed. They gave a warm welcome to him with Modi-Modi chants as people showered him with flowers. He was seen greeting people and waving at them.

Over 5,000 police officials have been deployed around the area.
 
PM Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway and lay the foundation stone of projects worth around Rs 16,000 crore in Karnataka.
 
Modi will also lay the foundation stone for four-lane Mysuru-Kushalnagar highway to be built at the cost of around Rs 4,130 crores. The project is expected to reduce the travel time between the destinations from 5 hours to only 2.5 hours.
 
He will also visit the northern part of Karnatala later in the day and inaugurate IIT Dharwad built at the cost of over Rs 850 crore.
 
PM Modi will dedicate to the nation the Shri Siddharoodha Swami platform at Hubballi railway station, which has been recognized in the Guinness Book of World Records. The platform is built at a cost of about Rs 20 crores.
 
The PM will also lay the foundation stone of Dharwad multi-village water supply scheme, which will be developed at a cost of over Rs 1040 crores.
 
Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various projects of Hubballi-Dharwad smart city. The total estimated cost of these projects is about Rs 520 crores, a PMO statement said. (UNI)
