PM Modi's mother Heeraba Modi passes away at 100, tributes pour in

Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother, Heeraba Modi passed away at the age of 100 on Friday morning.

Heeraba Modi was admitted to Ahmedabad's UN Mehta Hospital after her health deteriorated.

PM Modi tweeted. "A glorious century rests at the feet of God... In Maa I have always felt that trinity, which contains the journey of an ascetic, the symbol of a selfless Karmayogi and a life committed to values."

“When I met her on her 100th birthday, she said one thing always remembered work with intelligence, live life with purity.”

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge expressed his condolences over the demise of Heeraben Modi.

Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel condoled the demise of the Prime Minister's mother.

Former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Friday condoled the death of Heeraben Modi, who passed away while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Ahmedabad early today.

Naidu tweeted 'My deepest condolences to Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi on the sad demise of his beloved mother, Smt. Heeraben Modi.

There is nothing as priceless & indescribable in God’s creation as the bond between mother & child'.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy taking to twitter expressed deep sorrow and grief over the passing away of Smt Heeraben Modi, mother of PM sri Narendra Modi.

The Chief Minister said tat he shares the personal grief of Modiji and extended his heartfelt condolences on the bereavement.

In a message, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao conveyed his deep sympathies to the Prime Minister and his family members.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis in his tweet stated that, the news of demise of respected mother Hiraben of prime minister is very sad.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed deep sorrow over the death of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother, Heeraben Modi.

In his condolence message, Nitish Kumar said his mother's demise is always unbearable and the void is irreparable. It is impossible to replace a mother in the world, he added.
