PM Modi, US President Biden meet leading CEOs of tech companies to deepen collaboration

New Delhi/Washington:Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with US President Joe Biden met leading Indian and American CEOs of tech companies and startups to deepen the technology collaboration between India and USA. The CEOs included Satya Nadella of Microsoft, Sundar Pichai of Google, Anand Mahindra of Mahindra Group and Mukesh Ambani of Reliance Industries.

The PM in a tweet said that harnessing tech for societal betterment is a common goal that binds the two countries.

“At the White House today, @POTUS @JoeBiden and I met top CEOs associated with tech and innovation to explore ways in which technology can fuel India-USA relations. Harnessing tech for societal betterment is a common goal that binds us, promising a brighter future for our people.”

“AI is the future, be it Artificial Intelligence or America-India! Our nations are stronger together, our planet is better when we work in collaboration.”

The MEA spokesperson in a tweet said the CEOs discussed the enormous opportunities and ways to deepen institutional cooperation in cutting-edge tech and R&D between the two nations.“Trusted partners in High Technology collaborations.

PM @narendramodi & @POTUS @JoeBiden addressed a gathering of Indian and American CEOs of leading tech companies at a special event in the @WhiteHouse. @SecRaimondo moderated the event.

“The CEOs discussed the enormous opportunities and ways to deepen institutional cooperation in cutting-edge tech and R&D between India and US.“PM underlined the immense potential of harnessing India-US tech cooperation for socio-economic growth.”

A statement said that the two leaders participated in a India-US Hi-Tech Handshake event at the White House in Washington D.C on Friday.

The event was moderated by US Secretary of Commerce, Gina Raimondo, and saw the participation of leading Indian and American CEOs of tech companies and startups. The thematic focus of the forum was on ‘AI for All’ and ‘Manufacturing for Mankind’.

The event was an opportunity for both leaders to review the deepening technology collaboration between India and USA. Discussions focused on the role and potential of the India-US Technology Partnership in driving the adoption of an AI enabled inclusive economy to meet the needs of their citizens and the world.

The CEOs explored ways of leveraging existing linkages between the two tech ecosystems, India’s talented workforce and advances made by India in Digital Public Infrastructure, to build global collaborations.

They called for regular engagement between the respective industries to kickstart strategic collaborations, cooperate on standards and foster innovation.

In his remarks, Prime Minister underlined the immense potential of harnessing India-US tech cooperation for socio-economic growth. He also applauded the contribution of India’s talented youth in fostering a culture of innovation. President Biden called on CEOs to help expand India-US tech partnership to new fields including biotechnology and quantum.

Both leaders underscored that India-US partnership would play an instrumental role in building a better future for our people and for the world.The following business leaders participated in the event:

Separately, at another event, PM Modi addressed a gathering of professionals in USA on Friday at the John F. Kennedy Centre in Washington D.C.

The event was organized by US – India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF). Secretary of State of USA Antony Blinken also graced the occasion.

In his address, Prime Minister highlighted the profound transformation currently underway in India and the strides being made in various sectors. Stressing that "This is the moment", Prime Minister invited the professionals to forge partnerships with India.The event was attended by around 1000 leading professions hailing from diverse fields.(UNI)
