PM Modi, VP Naidu, other leaders greet people on Hindi Diwas

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President, M Venkaiah Naidu including other leaders have greeted the citizens, as the Hindi Diwas is being celebrated across the country on Tuesday.

In his message on twitter, the Prime Minister has said, "Wishing you all a very Happy Hindi Diwas. People from different regions have played a remarkable role in making Hindi a capable and capable language."

"It is the result of all your efforts that Hindi is continuously making a strong identity on the global stage," he said.

Urging people to use official language Hindi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, "On the occasion of Hindi Diwas, I urge all the countrymen to take a pledge to progressively use official language Hindi along with their mother tongue in basic works."

Calling language the most powerful medium to express emotion, the Union Minister said, "Hindi is the basic basis of our cultural consciousness and national unity as well as the ancient.‍ There is also a bridge between modernity and modern progress."

Vice President, M. Venkaiah Naidu has also greeted the people and said, "On 14 September 1949, the Constituent Assembly accepted Hindi as the official language. But remember the ideals and harmony of the Constituent Assembly which gave respect to Hindi and Indian languages in the Constitution."

Extending his wishes to the people, BJP President JP Nadda said, "Along with being the official language of India, Hindi is also the identity of the country's culture and tradition.

He said,"Come, let us make an important contribution to the progress of the nation by using Hindi, the facilitator of national integration with all other Indian languages."

On September 14, 1949 the Constituent Assembly adopted Hindi written in Devanagari script as the official language of the country.

Today, Hindi is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world and the first language of more than 520 million people.

The Union Government has taken several steps to promote the Rajbhasha and at the international forums. The pioneer was the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee whose address to the UN General Assembly is still recalled by one and all. (UNI)
