PM Modi, VP Naidu, others pay tributes to martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and others on Wednesday paid rich tributes to the martyrs who were massacred in Jallianwala Bagh on this day in 1919.

In a tweet, the PM wrote, "Tributes to those martyred in Jallianwala Bagh on this day in 1919." He said their unparalleled courage and sacrifice will keep motivating the coming generations.



Paying his homage to the martyrs, the VP in a tweet said, "We are eternally indebted to them for their supreme sacrifice for the freedom of our motherland." Naidu said the best tribute we can pay to our freedom fighters is building an India that they envisioned.



Union Home Minister Amit Shah in a tweet said, "Their sacrifices for the freedom of the country will continue to inspire the coming generations."



"The Jallianwala Bagh massacre had the greatest impact on the Indian freedom struggle. I pay my tributes to all the martyrs. We can never forget their sacrifice," BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda tweeted.



Congress MP Rahul Gandhi also took to twitter and wrote, "103 years ago, the massacre at Jallianwala Bagh showed the world the cruelty of an autocratic regime. Humble tribute to the courageous martyrs. "



The former Congress president said their supreme sacrifice has continued to inspire generations to fight against injustice. (UNI)
