New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and others on Wednesday paid rich tributes to the martyrs who were massacred in Jallianwala Bagh on this day in 1919.
Paying his homage to the martyrs, the VP in a tweet said, "We are eternally indebted to them for their supreme sacrifice for the freedom of our motherland." Naidu said the best tribute we can pay to our freedom fighters is building an India that they envisioned.
The former Congress president said their supreme sacrifice has continued to inspire generations to fight against injustice. (UNI)
