PM Narendra Modi hold bilateral talks with Nepal's PM Sher Bahadur Deuba

Lumbini/New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a day-long visit to Lumbini, held talks with his Nepalese counterpart Sher Bahadur Deuba, with the discussions focusing on the construction of hydropower projects, development of physical infrastructure of Nepal and expansion of connectivity. Ministry of External Affairs Arindam Bagchi, in a tweet, said: “PM @narendramodi holds bilateral talks with PM @SherBDeuba in Lumbini.

“Opportunity to strengthen ongoing cooperation and develop new areas in our multifaceted partnership.” Earlier, the two PMs performed the shilanyas ceremony for construction of the India International Centre for Buddhist Culture and Heritage in the Lumbini Monastic Zone, in Lumbini, Nepal. They also visited the Mayadevi Temple in Lumbini and offered prayers there. The visit comes on the auspicious occasion of 2566th Buddha Jayanti. (UNI)
